Tyrone Wells is a singer/songwriter in the folk-pop genre. His music have been featured over 50 times on hit television shows including: Grey's Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, Private Practice, and One Tree Hill, among many others; his music has been in films such as: Everyone's Hero, My Sister's Keeper, and Rails & Ties.
Born in Seattle and raised in Spokane, Washington, Tyrone was inspired by his older sisters, who were responsible for his discovery and love for music, but he did not begin songwriting until his move to California. While attending Hope International University in Southern California, Tyrone joined the band Skypark and began to songwrite.
By 2000, Tyrone launched his solo career, playing regular acoustic shows in Orange County, California, where he and a small movement of folk, pop and urban folk artists including Mike Barnet, Danny Vasquez and Jaycob Van Auken, collectively formed a coalition called 'True American Records.'
Later, in 2006, Tyrone signed a recording contract with Universal Republic, releasing his major label debut album entitled, “Hold On,” followed up by his sophomore release, “Remain,” in 2009. Tyrone’s first single, “More,” went the #13 at Triple A radio and was featured as the theme song for the A&E show "Intervention." Going back to his acoustic roots, Tyrone released the EP “Metal and Wood” in 2010. The album went on to become the #1 iTunes Singer Songwriter album. Building on his success, Tyrone ambitiously self released two full length albums in 2012 and saw “This Love”, reach #2 in iTunes top selling Singer Songwriter albums and “Where We Meet” reached #1 in the iTunes Singer Songwriter albums and Top Ten iTunes overall albums.
Following the international success of the #1 iTunes Singer- Songwriter album, “Where We Meet,” Tyrone Wells is back stronger than ever, with a new album “Roll With It,” slated for release on March 17, 2015.
In addition to the new album, Wells announced a 32-date headlining national tour to support the new album. Scheduled to begin in San Francisco on March 18th, the tour will take Wells throughout the United States over the course of two months and end in Anaheim on May 16th.
